Wrong side 

     .............. the right side ?

 

Woke up early,and was about to  brush my teeth. Found the tooth paste tube was completely flattened out .

 Could  be because I got up from the wrong side of bed

 

Placed  the vessel  on the Stove to boil milk. Found the Burner was clogged.  Must be because  I got up from the wrong side of bed !

 

Opened the tap to draw water for bath. Found the Hot water Geyser had packed up.

Surely  because I got up from the wrong side of bed.

 

Cooked Vermicilli for breakfast. It turned out clammy & lumped.

 Definitely because I got up from the wrong side of bed

 

Opened the PC to send out  mails. Internet was down.

Undeniably because I got up from the wrong side of bed

 

 Exasperated, I slumped  into   a chair in the verandah…… And then I saw them . Twittering & hopping around the garden in gay abandon . They  looked gorgeous.                It was magical and  I felt like I belonged there. It was as if some   divine power  conjured  up  this cheerful act .

 

I sat there savouring the scene. Instinctively I managed to smile.This was  something unique, and yet  so familiar;  radiant  and delightful  !  

 

And Yes ! Today I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. and I’m glad  I did.
